Like all the other people have said already, I was moved by the movie. After seeing the spot on That Metal Show with Eddie Trunk, I knew I had to lend my humble support to Anvil. I now own This is Thirteen and I like it! Flying Blind kicks like a mule!! I look forward to picking up Metal on Metal as well. As a 46 year old musician still performing locally, I can appreciate all that you guys have been through getting to this point. The sad part is that it took an almost pitiful plea to get the recognition that you so richly deserve. Without the movie, we still might not realize what Anvil meant to the world of metal. My sincere apologies for not hopping on the Anvil wagon when it rolled through the world 25 years ago - I'm on it now. Bad Earth would be honored to support you in the West Tennessee area when you make it back here. I salute you guys for staying the course and doing it your way. Enjoy the spoils, fellas!!!

;)Hi Guy's. I was in the super market doing my shop when I saw your dvd on a stand, I thought it looked worth watching. I must confess I hadn't heard of Anvil but the blurb on the box made it interesting. The film has just finished and I found it so moving I was in tears(but I am a girl). I wish you guy's all the sucess you deserve and should have had a long time ago. I will be looking out for your music now and regret not finding your film before you came to England as you would have had a few more fans watching. The fact that Lips and Rob are still together and best of buddies is fantastic. I think you guy's ROCK. If you are ever in Shropshire England and need a quiet place to crash we live in a 16th centuary Tudor house in a small hamlet of about a dozen homes. We wish you every sucess and keep on rocking. xxx

I think ANVIL never reached success they wish due to their complex "tempo" arrangements into their music, mainly...among other reasons. The sounds must me more straight, right to the point. There are too much riffs, too much drum rolls, etc. The kind of metal Anvil play is more destined to real metal fans, and not for the "regular" fans.
Lips, if you have a good manager and simple and straight songs, I guess you can go to the top......I don´t know if i´m right or wrong, but thats how I feel.

Dude .. They played the documentary this evening in Belgium. To be honest i'm not a big fan of metal. But dude, when you guys were preforming in Japan, and when Lips was running towards the crowd and started rocking.. Shivers down my spine man, shivers down my spine.. Great stuff man, i'm gonna buy the album for the music and support.
Alot of respect keep on rocking!

I agree with all the posters. You guys are an inspiration. I am a grown man with kids that have grown up and left home, and your story moved me to tears. You deserve all the success that you are getting right now. A beautiful story with, it seems, a happy ending. How often does that happen in real life?

Just watched the Anvil document from Finnish television. Very touching documentary.
I still got your early 80's Anvil vinyls (Metal on Metal, Forged in Fire etc) but I'd like to buy the CD version of those. I need to search for internet to find a place to purchase those (if not from your own site) and also your latest material.
I wasnt' able to come over to see your 2010 Finnish gig in Tampere Sauna festival. I did notice your name there and will definitely keep an eye on the next possible show if you come around.
Keep up the spirit!

I saw the film too for the first time and I was deeply moved by it. The percistance, not giving up, believing in yourself. All the themes. It made me look back in shame such projects as "some kind of monster" where millionares cry about their hardship in life. Well guess what Lars and co. f**k off! Anvil para siempre!!! I grew up on -80´s and remember Anvil from that period though never my favorite. Until now. I love metal and couldnt believe Anvil was still around. I hope to see you in Finland ´cos I didnt see you in Sauna and I would love to witness a legend. Rock forever!!!
